White Iowa Christmas

We made it to Iowa and back after 2,430 miles and 45 hours of traveling!  It was such a long trip but it was also fun to be with Kyle's family for the holiday.  We had excellent weather on the way out, at one point it was up to 50 degrees in Nebraska.  Then came the "Blizzard of 09"!!  It snowed so much over Christmas and the wind was bad too, luckily the boys were able to rescue the great grandparents from their houses on Christmas day!  We finally got to meet Sawyer's cousins Baker and Eli, they are two pretty cute kiddos!  Sawyer was an excellent traveler for the whole trip, I think by the end he just gave in to the fact we were in the car and not getting out.  Here are some pics from the trip.
In Nebraska they have these fast food places called Runza, I think they are awful but Kyle loves them!  Sawyer kind of liked the Runza but he liked the ice cream way better!
Grandpa T. (papa) and Sawyer out sledding

Great Grandpa S. (papa great) playing with Sawyer and the tractor.
Papa Great on the floor playing with Sawyer!!
The entire crew home for the holidays!

Sawyer enjoying his tunnel on Christmas morning
Uncle Seth hooked Sawyer up with some John Deere toys, he loves his new hat!
Sawyer and the twins got matching pjs from Grandma T. to wear on Christmas Eve.  They were so cute in them, we had to distract Sawyer from the fact that Santa was on them.
Sawyer in the car on the way home, he played with his big truck most of the way!
Because of the snow storm and the I-80 being closed we barely made it back to Idaho in time to have Christmas with my family!  Mary was so excited to open presents!

We had an excellent trip and it's hard to believe that Christmas is over and it's a new year!  We are looking forward to 2010 and the craziness it will bring!
